The Trimble eCognition Team has 2 webinars scheduled for April – making up for a dry spell in Q1!
The first, which will be live on April 15th at 15:00 (CEST), is an introductory webinar, “Trimble eCognition – an introduction to automated feature extraction”. This webinar is being hosted by Geospatial Media and will introduce attendees to the eCognition software, the principles of OBIA and rule set development. We will examine a workflow that automates the analysis of vegetation encroachment within a corridor and review other use cases. The Trimble eCognition Product Manager, Keith Peterson, will be presenting and fielding all questions.
The second webinar, “Broad scale automated mapping of shallow benthic habitats in the Caribbean using Plant Dove imagery” will take place on April 22nd at 16:00 (CEST). It is a joint webinar between Trimble, the Tama Group and The Nature Conservancy (TNC). TNC works with governments and stakeholders to protect, restore, and monitor coastal and marine habitats throughout the Caribbean. Baseline maps are greatly needed to understand the extent, condition, and change of these habitats. TNC is leveraging Trimble eCognition analytics using Planet Dove satellite data and has teamed up with value-added Tama Group to develop a highly sophisticated rule set for automated feature detection of shallow benthic habitats using spectral, depth, and geomorphic zone data. The product represents the highest resolution and consistently mapped benthic habitat product for the Caribbean Basin.
I hope you can join us for these events! As always, questions are always welcome and the webinars will be recorded and made available on eCognition tv.
